JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Salvation Army is hoping a successful kettle campaign this winter will result in the reopening of their Game Room in 2019.
With the kickoff of the annual Red Kettle Campaign set for today, Major Tim Nauta says they’ve set their goal at $168,000 for 2018.
Major Nauta pointed out that the Game Room has been closed for some time, but he is unsure of when it was last open to the public.
Nauta says on top of opening the Game Room, they are raising money to keep up with the year round needs of the community.
The Jamestown Salvation Army is still looking for volunteers to ring a bell in the community. Major Nauta says ringers can take a two hour shift at one of their six locations through the holidays. You can register to ring the bell at 701-252-0290 or online at registertoring.com.
The kickoff for the bell ringing season is today.
