CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Carrington Public School Superintendent Brian Duchscherer says recent ACT scores from Carrington students were very high.

The scores all came from last year’s seniors. Dr. Duchscherer says High School Principal David Nowatzki reported great ACT scores from all seniors.

English, mathematics and other subjects were higher than the state average from most tests.

In other school news, Dr. Duchscherer says NDSU is focusing on bringing a new graduation program to rural communities for teachers wanting to receive their masters degree.

He says the program was approved and the board is moving forward with receiving applications. Duchscherer says they will be teaming up with Jamestown and need at least 15 teachers to sign up for the program before it is brought to the region.

For the old Elementary School, bids are currently being let for the destruction of the building. Bids are due by December 4th.

Dr. Duchscherer has also conducted his employee reviews which were reported to the board earlier this week. He says he’s happy with the reviews of the principals in the district.

He credited staff with bringing all the students into the new Elementary School, which he says has been operating well in its first year of use.
