LAMOURE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The last time the Tornadoes made their way to the State Class B Tourney was in 2005 when they were part of Region 1, that all changed on Thursday night when Oakes beat the Imperials of Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter in a three-set sweep in the Region 3 championship match (25-13, 25-19, 25-17). Oakes improves to 31-7 overall and will qualify for the State Class B High School Volleyball Tournament running November 15th-17th in Minot. NGS ends their season as runner-up in Region 3 and a 26-8 overall record.

Junior Nicole Schmitz and Senior Marisa Garza had a match high 10 kills each for Oakes, and Sophomore Sadie Hansen had 36 assists, Junior Claire Wagner had two aces. The Imperials were led by Freshman Ashley Schmitt with 10 kills.
