JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – For the first time at the Jamestown Regional Medical Center, two podiatrists will be on staff.

In October, the JRMC announced that they had hired Dr. Kayla Emter, DPM, to join their podiatry team. Originally from Glen Ullin, Dr. Emter received her medical degree at Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa. Her residency was completed at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa.

Dr. Emter says she grew fascinated with podiatry when she experienced foot problems herself.

She says she always wanted to go into medicine and her own personal experiences led her down the path of podiatry. Dr. Emter says podiatry has a wide range of things they can provide to their patients.

Marketing Manager Katie Ryan-Anderson says the hiring of Dr. Emter is exciting for the JRMC and region.

Dr. Emter says she’ll begin accepting patients starting November 12th. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with family, crafting and being outdoors with her two daughters: McKenzie (2), Madisyn (5 months), and husband Eric.

Dr. Emter and her husband chose Jamestown because she enjoys close-knit communities.
