WISHEK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The McIntosh Sheriff’s Department says the body of a 66-year-old man was found in a chemical pond in Wishek Wednesday.

Sheriff Laurie Spitzer says the body was found at around 1 p.m. at the Jahner Landfill. The Stutsman County Dive and Rescue Team helped in the recovery of the man’s body.

Sheriff Spitzer says it appears to be an accidental drowning and they do not suspect foul play. The Bismarck Tribune reports that the man was doing chemical testing when he fell and drowned. He was alone at the time of the incident.

The man’s name and residence were not immediately released.
