VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – North Dakota U.S. House Representative Kevin Cramer was in Valley City on Wednesday for a Main Street Tour throughout the city.
Cramer told reporters Steve Urness that he got the feeling there’s a lot of optimism in the community after visiting several business owners in the city.
Cramer said there’s still anxiety in farm country concerning commodity price especially soybeans. But he believes for the most part, farmers support several of President Trumps trade policies including the new agreement with Canada and Mexico.
Cramer is challenging Senator Heidi Heitkamp. The U.S. Senate race is considered to be one of the closely watched races in the country being it holds pivotal party control of the U.S. Senate.
President Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr. plans to stop in the heart of North Dakota’s oil patch to campaign for Cramer on Tuesday, October 30th in Williston.
Meanwhile, former U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel a former two-term Republican senator and Vietnam combat veteran has been making campaign stops in North Dakota on behalf of Heidi Heitkamp this week. Some believe veterans will also be a pivotal group in the November 6th election.
The debate between Heidi Heitkamp and Kevin Cramer will be broadcast live on KOVC 1490 AM and on 96.3 FM in Valley City on Friday, October 26th at 7pm. The debate will also be broadcast live on KDAK 1600 AM in Carrington and KQDJ 1400 AM in Jamestown.
