JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – 4-Her’s are learning more about horses and more during a fall Hippology course in Stutsman County.

NDSU Extension Stutsman County Agent Robin Barnes says kids of all ages will be participating in classes and trainings.

Barnes says their courses will focus on a variety of topics with competitions almost weekly beginning in January.

Barnes says competitions can be individual, team, or both. She says kids boost their knowledge and self-esteem.

8 year-old Sydney Davis says she is participating in the course because she wants to learn more about her own horses.

10 year-old Bella Huebner also owns some horses and is looking forward to learning more as well.

Barnes says judging is also part of the training.

The first practice is set for tonight at the Legacy Center in Jamestown.

Those who want to learn more about the course are asked to contact Robin Barnes at 701-252-9030 or email robin.barnes@ndsu.edu.
