JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Recycling Center of North Dakota has officially moved into their new location.
Previously the old Coke plant, the business purchased the building and lot at 1016 10th Street SE to move into a larger space. Ralph Friebel states that the space will allow them to also begin sorting recyclables.
While the space will allow for sorting, Friebel says they are still waiting for some needed equipment before that can start.
Friebel says once the sorting machine is constructed and operational, they’ll start working on baled materials they’ve had since April. Friebel says they’ll hire 12 part time employees for sorting, which may eventually turn into full time jobs.
As far as recycling participation, Friebel says they’ve seen around 60 to 70 percent participation from Jamestown in their recycling program. He says their computer system and equipment will soon be able to report to them just how much is being picked up and the exact amount of participation in curbside pickup.
