JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Police Department was in pursuit of an unusual suspect Thursday morning.

A moose made its way into the community around 10 AM and caused quite a scene, leading authorities on a chase across town. Local media was informed that the public should stay away from the animal while officials with the Game & Fish Department were called in to handle the situation.

Authorities tracking the moose were able to escort the animal out of town west. The moose was first spotted near Nickeus Park and continued past Louis L’Amour Elementary.

No damage was reported and the animal did not enter any high traffic areas. Stutsman County Sheriff’s Deputies also assisted.
