JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown Regional Airport Manager Samuel Seafeldt has submitted his resignation.
Seafeldt told NewsDakota.com that he informed the Jamestown Regional Airport Authority Board on September 14th of his resignation.
Seafeldt took over as manager for the airport in September 2014 after then manager Matthew Leitner stepped down. Seafeldt took over the job after working as a flight instructor for six years at UND.
“Sam has done an excellent job,” City Councilmember Dave Steele stated. “He’s going to be deeply missed. It wasn’t an easy thing for the board members to accept his decision to leave. [But there’s] not a whole lot we can do.”
In his time as Manager, Seafeldt has achieved a lot including establishing a flight school, hiring a full time mechanic, surpassing the 10,000 passenger goal in a year, and several hanger, taxiway, and wetland mitigation projects.
A search is currently underway to find his replacement.
