BISMARCK (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High football team dropped a 37-7 decision to St. Mary’s on Saturday afternoon at the Community Bowl. Trailing just 10-0 at the break, Jamestown’s hope for a comeback were quickly squashed by a dominating second half from the Saints.

Two big penalties in the first half cost the Jays dearly. A hold on fourth-and-four from the red zone wiped away a Tommy Falk to Jared Kallenbach touchdown. Later, a block in the back took away a big catch-and-run from Carter Moser that would have set the Jays up in the red zone.

The second half was all St. Mary’s. Jamestown was able to get on the scoreboard to trim a 17-0 deficit to 17-7 with a 22-yard run from Brandon Dallman, but that momentum quickly evaporated. The Saints scored on their first four possessions of the half.

Jamestown (2-3) will host Valley City on Friday as part of the homecoming festivities.
