JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The City of Jamestown is currently seeking public input on the proposed switch to curbside collection only for garbage and recycling.
City Administrator Sarah Hellekson states that the intent of introducing automated garbage collection was to reduce costs by reducing labor, increasing efficiency by reducing collection time, and streamlining the collection process.
“This two day open house is opportunity for residents to actively participate in the decision-making process,” Hellekson says in a release.
At least one city staff person will be present to listen and answer questions. Residents are invited to comment on alley and curbside waste collection to be included on the list compiled for City Council.
The open house will be at the Jamestown Fire Department on Friday, September 28th from 9AM to 2PM and Friday, September 29th from 9AM to 2PM.
