JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The University of Jamestown football team was informed by the NAIA that they used an ineligible player during the 2016 and 2017 seasons. The violation means Jamestown must vacate four wins, two from each season.
The Jimmies had previously vacated two wins, including a victory over VCSU, from the 2016 season from a previous error. Now, they had to give back the wins over Mayville State and Concordia (MN) from 2016 and the wins over Mayville and Waldorf in 2017.
“We didn’t knowingly use an ineligible player,” said head coach Josh Kittell. “We’ve corrected the issue to make sure it never happens again.”
The first official win for Kittell will now be the 28-26 win over VCSU back in August.
