JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – 50 or more walkers joined together to show their support for one another and to fight the suicide stigma.
Unite to Silence the Stigma held their annual Walk to Silence the Stigma event on Saturday at Nickeus Park. The event had opening remarks by several area individuals and was followed by the walk and a balloon release.
One of the event’s organizers Monte Rodacker pointed out that there were people available at the event if anyone needed help.
One gentleman shared a story that happened earlier this week that involved a young girl in Jamestown.
Information was also given on the Sources of Strength program, which the organization has been raising funds for. Jamestown Instructor Sadie Lech told the group about the program.
