OAKES (NewsDakota.com) The Oakes High Volleyball team eared yet another sweep of a District 5 opponent, this time with a 3-0 victory Thursday night against Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier.

Oakes won by scores of 25-15, 25-9 and 25-23. Nicole Schmitz had a team high 17 kills with Marisa Garza registering six. The Tornadoes accumulated 15 aces, nine of which came in the second set. Both Nicole and Kylee Schmitz each had three aces.

Out of the Rebels 23 kills, Katie Entzi had 18 of them, to go along with nine digs.

Both Oakes (10-1, 2-0 District 5) and E/K/M (1-3, 0-1) compete at the Valley City Optimist Tournament Saturday September 15.
