JAMESTOWN, N.D. (UJ) – University of Jamestown has again received the highest regional college rankings of all North Dakota institutions in U.S. News and World Report’s “Best Colleges 2019” edition, released Sept. 10.

The University, along with six other schools from the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), were ranked as a “Best Regional College” in the Midwest category.

“We are pleased to once again be recognized by U.S. News and World Report as a best regional college in the Midwest,” said UJ President, Dr. Polly Peterson. “University of Jamestown has a strong reputation for providing a quality education through a blending of the liberal arts with professional programs in an environment that promotes student engagement and an encounter with Christian tradition. It is an honor to be recognized nationally for the work that we do.”

U.S. News and World Report’s “Best Colleges” is the most recognized and popular of all college rankings. The report evaluates colleges and universities annually by assessing criteria such as peer assessment, graduation rate, student/faculty ratios, class size, alumni giving, and student testing scores. Categories are Regional Colleges, Regional Universities, National Universities, and National Liberal Arts Colleges.

In addition to its U.S. News and World Report ranking, the University of Jamestown was once again named a “Best in the Midwest” college by Princeton Review and ranked number one in the “Best Colleges & Universities in North Dakota” list by College Factual.

“We appreciate that our efforts to offer students quality and relevant programs has been recognized,” commented Greg Ulland, Vice President of Enrollment Management. “University of Jamestown’s Journey to Success approach to education ensures students that they are prepared to enter the workforce and become leaders in their communities upon graduation.”
