JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Unite to Silence the Stigma has set their second annual Walk to Silence the Stigma on September 15th.

Unite to Silence the Stigma was created more than five years ago and has made it their mission to eliminate the stigma surrounding suicide. The organization is comprised of local individuals who have had an experience with suicide, whether that’s a family member or friend.

Monte Rodacker says they also team up with three other organizations for radio ads that have the 1-800-TALK number as well as a bench with the number at the Buffalo Mall.

He pointed out that while the organization does raise money for suicide prevention and support, the walk will focus on just providing support for area individuals.

Rodacker says the walk will start with registration at 9:30 AM at Nickeus Park in Jamestown. There will be opening remarks and the walk will start at 10 AM. He says there will also be support there for those who need it.

You can help the non-profit by sending a monetary donation to P.O. Box 623, Jamestown, ND 58401.

The whole public is invited to attend the walk in support.
