COOPERSTOWN, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The Central Dakota Titans have saved the best for last, at least right now. With two wins in the first two games of the season, the cooperative that includes Barnes County North, Griggs County Central and Midkota will end after this season. And right now they are off to the best start since the coop was formed.

That is head coach George Straub, who has been part this program for nine years, says the physicality of this team is one reason for the early season success.

With wins over Maple Valley/Enderlin and Bottineau, the 2-0 Titans hit the road for the first time this season on Friday when then travel to Rugby. The Panthers have dropped two road games so far this season.

Central Dakota is one of three teams 2-0 in Region 3 with Carrington and Langdon Area/Edmore/Munich the other two. The Titans don’t face those two teams until the last two games of the regular season.

But for now, the Titans are looking forward to Rugby and Straub says the work ethic of this team is another big reason for the uncharted waters they are in.

Central Dakota and Rugby kickoff at 7pm Friday night in Rugby.
