JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Police Department is continuing their investigation after a teacher at the Jamestown High School was stabbed by a student.

Major Justin Blinsky says because the student is a minor, their name will not be released. The name of the teacher will not be released because they invoked their rights under Marsy’s Law.

Major Blinksy says the incident happened in a classroom at around 10:45 AM Friday, August 31st.

Blinsky says the injuries the teacher sustained were not serious, but they received medical treatment. It’s not known if the instructor has returned to the school.

Major Blinsky says the 15 year-old student was arrested following the incident.

No further details will be released as the incident remains under investigation.
