JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Stutsman County Commission met Tuesday afternoon at the courthouse for a brief meeting.

The Stutsman County Commission approved an appointment for an unexpired Social Service Board Position. The commission also learned that the County Road 39 project was completed in August.

Later in the meeting, Stutsman County State’s Attorney Fritz Fremgen stated that he had the most criminal tasks awaiting action since he’s been State’s Attorney.

Fremgen did reiterate that their seeing more methamphetamine cases out of the county, mentioning the large drug bust in Streeter earlier this year.

Alicia Harstad with the Stutsman County NDSU Extension Service later came to the county to give them an update. Harstad pointed out that because NDSU Extension funding was reduced by 13.9 percent for the biennium, Extension and the North Dakota County Commissioners Association collaborated on a new cost-share agreement for Extension agents.

Harstad says NDSU Extension will be approaching legislation to get more funding for their website and to help bring operational support.
