JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – As students settle into their classes and schedules in the district, the Jamestown Music Boosters prepare themselves for the year ahead.
The JPS Music Boosters were established to help assist the school’s music programs, providing students with scholarships, equipment, instruments, and more.
JPS Music Boosters President Michelle Weatherly says they’ve also provided a grand piano for the high school, electric keyboards, acoustic shells, and more.
Each year they host two major fundraisers that help them in their mission. The first will be September 16th and is called “Music Through the Ages.”
The annual event showcases musical talent of former students in the Jamestown Public Schools and how they’ve used music in their lives or careers. School music instructors, graduates, and more will perform during the evening.
Weatherly says they also are constantly looking for volunteers, who are encouraged to email jamestownmusicboosters@gmail.com for more information.
The concert is set for Sunday, September 16th at the Jamestown High School theater starting at 3PM. Tickets will be available at the door at $10 for adults, $5 for students and $25 for families. All money will benefit the music boosters and their mission.
