LISBON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- Maple Valley/Enderlin battled Central Dakota in week 1 but were on the short end of a 12-6 game. The Falcons defense was able to contain The Titians for most of the contest but they struggled to overcome offensive miscues.

The focus this week has been on shoring up security on the line of scrimmage, coach Nathan Hoots says working on communication has been important

MVE had 179 yard on offense; a majority of that coming in the air. Lain Combs and Carson Hovelson had 2 catches each with 58 and 53 yards; Hovelson caught the team’s lone touchdown. In his first career start, Chance Bye was 4 of 14 for 111 yards. Coach Hoots was impressed by his effort

Next up for The Falcons is a trip to Lisbon for a regional game against The Broncos. They are also coming off a loss, falling to Langdon Area/Edmore/Munich 45-28. After their offensive output in week 1, MVE’s line will need to be on their toes all game long

Maple Valley/Enderlin at Lisbon will be The Game of the Week on Thunder Country 98.3 and NewsDakota.com. Pregame starts at 6:40.
