ELLENDALE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- Sarah Richman had 12 kills, Emma Baasch added another six, and Lindsey Pommerer had a game-high six aces and 32 digs as the Maple Valley volleyball team won their season opener over Ellendale in five sets Saturday night.

The Raiders were the victors by scores of 25-23, 20-25, 11-25, 25-11 and 15-12. Katelyn Dathe had 19 kills and Isabel Grueneich registered 22 digs in the defeat for the Cardinals (0-1).

Ellendale welcomes Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter Tuesday. Maple Valley hosts Milnor/North Sargent Thursday.
