AMENIA, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A Fargo man was seriously injured and faces a DUI charge after losing control of his motorcycle north of Amenia Saturday evening.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports that Steven Lauinger, 37, was traveling southbound on Highway 18 when he lost control of the motorcycle and was thrown from the bike. Lauinger suffered life threatening injuries and was flow by Sanford Life Flight to Sanford Hospital in Fargo.

Lauinger was not wearing a helmet. He was arrested for Driving Under the Influence. The crash remains under investigation.
