COOPERSTOWN, N.D.  (NewsDakota.com) Entering the game on Friday night, the Titans of Central Dakota had not won a game since October 23, 2015, including an 0-8 season last year and an 0-9 season in 2016, a combined 0-17. But the streak came to an end in the first game of the 2018 season, as the Titans come from behind to defeat the Falcons of Maple Valley/Enderlin 12-6 in a Class 1A non-region game. CD improves to 1-0 overall, MVE drops to 0-1 overall.

MVE scored first, with three seconds left in the first quarter and after a timeout, Sr. quarterback Chance Bye connected with Jr. Carson Hovelson for a 34 yard touchdown pass. Towards the end of the second quarter, Jr. quarterback Colby Bruner ran a QB sneak for a 1-yard touchdown run on first and goal, tying the game at six, as both teams 2-point conversions failed. With time winding down in the fourth quarter, Bruner would connect with Jr. Jory Boote for a 15 yard touchdown, the 2-point conversion failed making the score 12-6. The Falcons would get the ball back with about two minutes remaining, on 4th and 16, Bye would try and air it out in desperation but was intercepted by Boote. After a hefty unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on the Titans, they would start at the eight yard line and eventually run the clock out.
