ELLENDALE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Over 20 vulnerable elderly citizens of Ellendale, ND are still facing severe impacts as a result of an extreme rain event which occurred on July 18, 2018.

The heavy rain caused flooded basements, basement wall collapses, and overwhelmed sanitary sewer systems. Many of the impacted residents are on fixed incomes and either have no insurance or are under-insured.

Local emergency management officials estimate that $108,000 will be needed to assist in recovery efforts.

Agencies contributing to the recovery efforts are: Lutheran Social Services, Catholic Charities, ND Community Foundation, the ND Department of Health, and the ND Department of Emergency Services.
