BISMARCK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The annual Ride to Silence the Stigma has been held to raise money for suicide prevention and awareness.

On Sunday, August 19th, promoters and participants of the ride traveled to Bismarck to deliver funds raised from the 5th annual event.

“This amazing group of people presented the proceeds of the Ride to Silence the Stigma to The Adjutant General Major Al Dohrmann on behalf of the ND National Guard Foundation and ND Cares,” stated Beth Doyle-Lautt. “The ride raised $3,000 for each of these organizations.”

Created by Dave & Beth Lautt, the ride was started after their son Thomas took his own life in 2013. The ride raises awareness and support for those who suffer from all things including suicidal thoughts, PTSD, anxiety, depression, bullying, bipolar disorder or alzheimer’s.

The 5th annual ride had 186 participants with 92 registered bikes and 12 vehicles.

“Special thanks to the Midnight Riders and those pictured below who went above and beyond to host such a great ride,” Doyle-Lautt stated. “We are so proud to call you our friends.”
