LEEDS, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A crash near Leeds, ND Thursday is being investigated by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
According to the NDHP, a truck operated by Brian Bjerke of Leeds was traveling southbound on 62nd Avenue NE before turning westbound on Highway 2. An international truck tractor driven by Edward Kelly Jr. of Dardanelle, Arkansas was also traveling west and did not switch lanes to pass the slower moving truck. The international struck the rear passenger side of the truck, causing the semi to enter the north ditch.
The truck crossed the center of the roadway and came to rest in the median. Kelly was transported by Leeds Ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake before being flown to Altru in Grand Forks with serious injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
