BISMARCK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Early Canada Goose season kicked off Wednesday in North Dakota.

North Dakota Game & Fish Wildlife Biologist Doug Leier says initial reports from the first day have been good.

Leier says hunters should prepare ahead of time with equipment including mosquito repellant and licenses. With a daily limit of 15, Leier says hunters are encouraged to donate meat to a local locker.

The North Dakota Community Action Sportsmen Against Hunger program will accept Canada and light (snow, blue, and Ross’s) goose donations during the regular waterfowl season as well.
