JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Nearly 50 Jamestown residents came out to celebrate and remember the lives of those lost during a memorial service and ceremony Tuesday in McElroy Park.
The service was open to those who have experienced the loss of a loved one. Jamestown Regional Medical Center Hospice also planted a tree in loving memory.
Maren Radi is the JRMC Hospice Coordinator and says she has held the service for a few years.
Radi says the planted oak tree is a symbol of strength. Those who participated wrote the names of a loved one, which were then placed underneath the tree before it was planted.
Staff with the JRMC Hospice and Jamestown Area Grief Support Team (JAGST) shared poems and sang songs during the annual ceremony.
