Safety in the Park Highlights in Valley City

VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Park and Recreation Month was wrapped up in Valley City with a fun event known as Safety in the Park. The event was held as a huger block party in Chautauqua Park on July 31 in Valley City.

The Valley City Park & Recreation Department served a picnic meal and a dunk tank buy out featuring several members from the Fire, Police, Sheriff Department’s and Ambulance crews provided a good laugh for the crowd.

Funds raised from the event went to the Abused Person’s Outreach Center, Barnes County Social Services and the Valley City Barnes County Public Library.

The event was sponsored by the VFW Club, Valley City Backing the Badge and several local sponsors.
