HILLSBORO, N.D.  (NewsDakota.com) The day started with eight teams and would end with six teams as four games were played at the 2018 Class B Central Region Tournament. Here is day two results:

Hope/Finley 6 Fargo Expos 4 (elimination game)

New Rockford 9 Gardner Express 3 (elimination game)

After dropping a tough one to Harwood in the tourney opener on Tuesday, number four seed New Rockford Post 30 needed a victory to stay alive in the double elimination tournament. No. 8 Gardner Express Post 132 would score the first two runs of the game in the top of the second inning, but Post 30 would get a run back in the home half of the second, plus pour on seven more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and another run in the fifth to help secure the win. Starting pitcher and lead-off man Bo Belquist was 2-for-4 at the plate and picked up the victory on the mound, working all seven innings, with eight strikeouts and three walks. Shortstop Teddy Allmaras was 2-for-4 at the plate with two doubles, three RBI and scored a run. For Gardner, Colin Conteh was 3-for-4 with three singles. Brady Richman took the loss, working six innings. Post 132 ends their season at 2-18.

Carrington 2 MayPort/CG 0 (quarterfinal)

Starting pitcher Jayden Shipmen for Carrington Post 25 would walk the first batter he faced, then give up a single to Sammy Satrom, after that it was lights out as he retired the next 20 MayPort batters in a row. He pitched a one-hit shutout, had six straight 1-2-3 innings and walked only one batter.  At the plate for Carrington, lead-off batter Lucas Geiszler went 3-for-3, with a solo home-run in the home half of the first inning, along with two singles and scored two runs. Preston Edinger took loss, working six innings, with two runs, seven hits, three strikeouts and one hit batter.
