HILLSBORO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The 2018 Class B Central Region Legion Baseball Tournament will kickoff on Tuesday, July 24th in Hillsboro and run through Saturday, July 28th. A total of eight teams will compete for the top two spots and a state tournament birth. Hillsboro/Central Valley is the top seed and a region record of 13-1, Carrington Post 25 is the second seed with a region record of 11-3 (further records and pairings below). Post 25 is vying for their third consecutive Central Region championship and fourth in the last five years.
This is a double elimination tournament and games will start at their scheduled times unless weather becomes an issue. Hillsboro/CV is the host team, and will play the last game of day one, flipping with the Carrington and Hope-Finley game, which will be the first game on Tuesday morning. Here’s the first day schedule:
10am – No. 2 Carrington (11-3) vs. No. 7 Hope-Finley (3-11)
12:30pm – No. 3 MayPort (10-4) vs. No. 6 Fargo Post 400 Expos (3-11)
3:00pm – No. 4 New Rockford (9-5) vs. No. 5 Harwood (5-9)
5:30pm – No. 1 HCV (13-1) vs. No. 8 Gardner (2-12)
All of the Carrington and all of the New Rockford games can be heard on AM 1600 KDAK the Cardinal and newsdakota.com, starting about 15 minutes before the scheduled start time with the pregame report.
