JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The legion stars of tomorrow are the Babe Ruth stars of today and those stars will be on display at the 2018 North Dakota Babe Ruth State Tournaments this weekend in Williston and Dickinson.

The 14 Year Old Babe Ruth State Tournament will be in Williston beginning on Thursday and running through Monday.

Jamestown opens the tournament on Thursday against Devils Lake. Head Coach Elias Sablan says he likes the way the team is playing heading into the tournament.

Sablan says this group of players have a good grasp of what it will take to be a successful baseball player at the next level.

At all levels of baseball, pitching is a big key to a team’s success. Sablan likes this staff as they head into the state tournament. And says the pre-tournament message is simple to his team.

The 14s will play at 10am versus Devils Lake in game one on Thurday. The winner will face Bismarck later in the day while the loser will play Friday afternoon at 12:30 versus the loser of the Fargo/Mandan game.

The 13 year old North Dakota State Tournament is in Dickinson and Jamestown plays Mandan in the first round on Friday at 10:30am.
