OAKES, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- Brandon Utke lasted all seven innings, allowed just five hits and struck out four as the Enderlin Post 221 American Legion baseball team took down Oakes Post 36 11-1 Monday night.

After a 1-1 tie after the first inning, the Railcats (7-2 Class B Southeast Region) scored twice in the second and three in the third to pull away. The score could have been even more lopsided, as Enderlin stranded 14 runs on base, including the bases loaded twice.

Dustin Kasowski scored four times, and registered a pair of hits in the victory. Taylor Schall had a pair of hits for Post 36 (5-4).

Both teams wrap up regular season play Wednesday. Enderlin welcomes Fairmount-Hankinson-Lidgerwood, while Oakes heads to Ellendale. Coverage of Oakes/Ellendale starts at 5:50 p.m. with first pitch at 6 p.m. on The Tornado KDDR-AM 1220/95.9 FM and NewsDakota.com,
