VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Park Board will advertise for anyone interested in putting their name in a hat to become a member of the park board.

A committee of the Park Board will interview candidates and make a recommendation to the full board at their next regular meeting in August.

Park Board President Dick Gulmon said the board took this action after former board member Mike Lentz resigned after he accepted a position as Park District Superintendent. Gulmon said the appointment by statue would be for 2 years and in 2020 there will be another election for the position.

Meanwhile, incumbents William “Buff” Murray and Susan Kringlie were sworn in to serve another term on the Park Board on June 26th following the June 12th election in Valley City.
