JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – After a rain shortened trip to Omaha, Post 14 will be back in action tonight as they travel to Mandan for a Divisional matchup with the A’s.
Last week Jamestown was scheduled to play four games in Omaha but the rain, which wreaked havoc on the College World Series, washed out two of the games for Post 14.
Monday they lost to Creighton Prep 13-1 and Lockport, Ill. 7-3.
Coach Justin Connell says the experience went beyond the final scores. His players saw how veteran teams do certain things.
With all the down time in Omaha, Connell says the bonding time was good for the team.
On the field, Connell says one thing that has been nice to see is the offense. As a team, Jamestown is hitting 311 with eight players hitting over 300. And he says 1-9, they can count on anyone to do the job.
Tonight’s Class A Southwest Division doubleheader can be heard on 1400 ESPN and NewsDakota.com with the pregame at 5:15 and first pitch at 5:30.
