JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Dwaine Heinrich and David Steele both conducted their first orders of business as Mayor and Councilman respectively Tuesday evening.
Following the final adjournment by former Mayor Katie Andersen, Steele was sworn in to serve as the next City Councilman. He will be filling the seat vacated by Ramone Gumke. Judge Troy LeFevre conducted the ceremony. LeFevre then swore in his stepfather Heinrich as Mayor of Jamestown. Following the ceremony, City Administrator Sarah Hellekson held the first roll call of the new council.
Following that, Mayor Heinrich thanked the both Andersen and Gumke for their services to the city.
Steele then thanked his wife and those who supported him in his run for the council.
Mayor Heinrich also thanked his wife and family for their support. The council then filled appointments for City Attorney and Prosecutor, Assistant City Prosecutors and Attorneys, and many different boards and the Mayor’s committee. The meeting was then adjourned.
