VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Barnes County Historical Society Annual Board Meeting and Final Season 19 Lecture is slated for Thursday June 21st at 7pm at the Barnes County Museum. All members are invited to attend as they will go over the past year’s business and elect new board members.

Wes Anderson said, “Our final scheduled lecture for Season 19 happens to fall on June 21st, the Summer Solstice and so, after we conclude our business meeting at the museum, we will move ourselves to the VCSU Planetarium were we will give you a Live Night Sky Presentation showing off what I do moonlighting as VCSU Planetarium Director.

Anderson started with the planetarium 24 years ago as a student and has been teaching the Planetarium Science Class on campus since fall 2002. He said, we will look at basic constellations with some history and mythology.  It is free and open to the public.

Anderson will then reconvene everyone to come to the Medicine Wheel Park to greet the official start of summer and see the days start to get shorter once again.

Come see the new developments at the Park and be part of the entertainment. As the sky darkens, telescopes with be available to view Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, and the Moon.
