JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown High School Principal Adam Gehlhar gave a few updates on plans for the 2018-19 school year to the Jamestown Public School Board.

Gehlhar informed the school board that over the course of several meetings, they were able to study models and the purpose of flex periods. He says they have already implemented flex periods into the schedule on Wednesdays in between the lunch periods.

Gehlhar says they are looking forward to the flexibility for students to choose to see a teacher if they need additional support or to makeup work due to absences.

A schedule software has been put in place for students and teachers to use in order to better fulfill the flex period.

Gehlhar says they also continue to focus on internships. He says 6 students completed their seed program in different areas last year. He says this year they 8 students signed up in different internships.

Principal Gehlhar thanked the administration and school board for the opportunities and continued growth in their projects.
