UNDERWOOD, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Midwest AgEnergy, the parent company to ethanol biorefineries, Blue Flint, near Underwood, ND and Dakota Spirit, near Spiritwood, ND has announced it has been named “Workplace of the Year” by Ethanol Producer magazine.
The award recognizes Midwest AgEnergy for having outstanding employment and management practices.
CEO Jeff Zueger accepted the award on behalf of the company this week in Omaha, NE.
“We are honored to receive recognition for the commitment we have to our employees and our community,” explains Zueger. “We have worked hard to make sure our employees know their input is valued and that every member of the team is ready to cooperate to constantly improve the workplace.”
The commitment to teaching and bettering employees is reflected in the company’s safety record. Blue Flint has achieved 11 years with no lost-time accidents and Dakota Spirit, which started in 2015, has never had a lost-time accident. A lost-time accident is defined as time lost to an employee that is injured on the job and cannot return to the next regularly scheduled shift.
Midwest AgEnergy also values their employees giving back to the communities in which they live and work by providing12 hours per employee per year to be spent towards volunteering.
The North Dakota biorefineries are two of nearly 200 across the county. More information about the award can be found in the June edition of Ethanol Producer magazine.
