JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota Primary Election is slated to begin Tuesday, June 12th.

Sites have been established in Stutsman County for voters in the county to go. Voters will be asked to vote on several positions this year.

In Stutsman County, 6 names will appear on the ballot for three seats on the Stutsman County Commission. They include incumbents Dennis Ova and Craig Neys, Steven Cichos, Ramone Gumke, Mark McPherson and Nellie Degen.

Commissioner Dale Marks will not be seeking re-election.

Chad Kaiser is the lone candidate for Stutsman County Sheriff. Fritz Fremgen is the lone candidate for Stutsman County State’s Attorney. Geneva Kaiser is the only candidate for the Director of Garrison Diversion. The Jamestown Sun is the single selection for the official County Newspaper.

For the city of Jamestown, three individuals have their names out for the Mayor seat; Incumbent Katie Andersen, Joshua Meade, and Dwaine Heinrich. For the open city council member seat, David Steele and Kevin Walker will be running.

Lawrence P Kropp is the lone candidate for City Municipal Judge. Three seats are open on the City Park Board. Those running are Chris Aarhus, Mindi Schmitz, Mike Soulis, Mike Landscoot, Ryan Schlafman, and Mitchell Ostlie.

For the Jamestown Public School Board, three city/urban seats and two rural positions are open. Candidates for the three city/urban seats include Heidi Larson, Brenda Roehmmich, Robert Toso and Jason Rohr. For the two rural positions, only incumbent Cedric Trevithick is running. Greg Allen has decided not to run for re-election.

Polling locations for Stutsman County include the Pingree Community Center, Kensal Memorial Hall, Medina City Hall, and Jamestown Civic Center.

As of Sunday, June 10th, 647 voters in Stutsman County had submitted an early vote. Numbers from the election will be posted when polls close at 7PM on Tuesday.
