JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown to Valley City segment of the 2018 Torch Run for Special Olympics North Dakota took place on Tuesday, June 5th.
“Over 20 law enforcement volunteers from Jamestown and Valley City carried the torch east along Interstate 94 for opening ceremonies of the 2018 State Summer Games Thursday and Friday,” stated Sgt. Matthew Denault.
The summer games will feature more than 600 Special Olympics athletes from across the state, competing in several events including track and field, unified volleyball, and more.
“This year marks the 50th anniversary of Special Olympics and the theme is ‘Cheers to 50 Years of Inclusion Revolution’,” Sgt. Denault pointed out.
