JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The City of Jamestown was called last week after an employee at Mac’s Hardware noticed a large sink hole while mowing the ditch.
Street Foreman Harold Sad reports that it was a washout next to I-94 that caused the large hole.
“The old storm sewer that ran along the interstate there was built with wood that rotted out, causing the washout,” Sad reported. “It ran a 10 foot diameter culvert and tied into an 8 foot culvert. We took a machine to fix the support, added a saddle device and capped it with concrete. It should last forever now.”
Below are some photos of the washout before the city repairs.
