SANBORN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Authorities say a Sanborn man was rescued from Hobart Lake east of Sanborn after the pickup he was driving drove into the lake about 8:15am on Monday, June 4th.

Barnes County Sheriff Randy McClaflin said the man was transported immediately to the hospital in Valley City and then air lifted to a Fargo hospital. His condition has not been released.

Divers from the Valley City Rural Fire District rescued the man who was submerged in the water for several minutes. Members from the Sanborn Fire Department also assisted in this rescue.

Highway Patrol Sgt. Matthew Denault said he isn’t sure how the man lost control of his pickup and ended up in the water. The incident remains under investigation with the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
