JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown Tourism has continued to find unique events and ways to show off what the community has to offer.

A new challenge this year is the Jamestown Geocaching Challenge.

Geocaching is a recreational activity of hunting and finding hidden objects by means of GPS. North Dakota Geocaching Association member Frank Balak teamed up with Tourism to create some geocaches in the area.

Jamestown Tourism Executive Director Searle Swedlund says the challenge will take participants all over the community to collect clues.

Swedlund says those who collect all the clues get a one-of-a-kind White Cloud medallion. Swedlund says they hope it makes touring Jamestown a unique experience for those who have seen it all and those new to the community.

Another program Swedlund highlighted was the Junior Sheriff Program at the Historic 1883 Stutsman County Courthouse. He says the program is for kids of all ages and is free.
