George Robert “Bob” Person, age 66, of Litchville, ND was taken too soon from his loving family on June 2, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was, and will always be, an amazing husband, dad, papa, brother, uncle, cousin, neighbor, and friend.
Bob was born December 16, 1951 to George and Hilda (Meidinger) Person of Litchville. He grew up on his family farm near Litchville. Bob graduated from Litchville Public School in 1969. He attended NDSCS in Wahpeton, ND where he graduated with a degree in Auto Body.
He was married March 8, 1975 to the love of his life, Amy Gronneberg, in Cooperstown, ND. After marriage, they lived and farmed near Litchville. This is where they raised their four children and continued farming until the time of his death.
Bob is survived by his wife of 43 years, Amy; daughter, Jen Person of Fargo; daughter, Melissa (Kevin) Matzke of Jamestown; son, Dustin Person (Durton Koble) of Owatonna, MN; daughter, Lyndsey Person (Nick Haakenson) of Jamestown; two sisters, Judy Uecker of Valley City and Ginger Grundhauser of Billings, MT; three grandchildren, Benjamin, Anthony James, and Gabriella Matzke. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, friends, and grand-dogs.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents George and Hilda Person and his grandparents.
Bob enjoyed many hobbies which included restoring and working on cars, listening to the Beatles, farming, raising livestock, being outdoors, and spending time with his family and his beloved pet Chloe. We will miss everything about him from his calm, practical nature to his sense of humor, his compassion for every living thing, and how he was always there for each and every one of us who needed him. He instilled in all of us his strong work ethic, his honesty, and his ability to stay calm in any situation and just “Let It Be.”
