JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Rough Rider Industries was host to a Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours.
Rough Rider Industries, which teams up with the James River Correctional Center, is located at 2521 Circle Drive.
“It was a very informative event for those attending, as they were able to view the wide variety of products that the residents make in both the Jamestown and Bismarck locations for the prison,” the chamber states.
“These include things from all types of furniture, metal products, signs, clothing, and so much more. The Rough Rider staff was on hand to provide information about the various products, along with some of the residents who actually manage or work in the Jamestown facility.”
Melissia Kleven, JRCC Industry Manager, and Rick Gardner, Rough Rider Industries Director, shared information about the products produced in both locations and to share the vision of the program.
Chad Pringle, Jamestown Correctional Center Warden, was on hand to greet the visitors and to have his staff provide tours of the correctional center.
“There are many different opportunities that provide the residents the ability to learn or enhance their skills that help make them more productive once they have served their time. There were some good conversations happening during this event about opportunities for local employers to utilize these skills by hiring the residents once they are released.”
