VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The former powerhouse on east main in Valley City has a few cracks on the structure after construction crews drove steel sheeting into the ground near the power house earlier this month.
KLJ Engineer Chad Peterson said there’s no indication that the building is going to collapse. He said there are some cracks in the building, some new but most are old.
He said the sheeting is the foundation for the concrete floodwalls being built. The work should be completed on Thursday weather permitting.
Last week as a precaution the city set up a street closure in the area which is no longer in place.
