JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown continued its late season surge with a pair of wins over Bismarck St. Mary’s Saturday afternoon at Jack Brown Stadium in the regular season finale.

The Blue Jays scored five runs in the third inning, breaking open a one run game. All nine starters had at least one hit for Jamestown. Eight scored at least one run. Dawson Douty led the way with three hits. Ryder Lunzman, Tommy Falk, Drew Murray and Ty Fischer each had two hits. Murray and Fischer scored twice each. While Fischer drove in two runs.
Douty got the win going five innings. He allowed four hits, one earned run with one walk and four strikeouts. Aaron Kleven pitched two shutout innings to finish up for the Blue Jays.
Jamestown 3 St. Mary’s 1
Game two was a little closer. Like game one, Jamestown scored two runs in the first inning but Taylor Schmitt would allow jut four more hits and one run the rest of the way. But the Saints had trouble solving the Blue Jay pitchers. Aaron Kleven, who finished the first game, started game two. He went two shutout innings allowing two hits with no strikeouts or walks. Ryder Lunzman got the win in relief. He allowed four hits and one unearned run in five innings. He did not walk a batter and fanned five.
Drew Murray had two more hits to lead the Jays. Dawson Douty, Lunzman, Chris Erickson, Tommy Falk and Max Anderson had the other hits.
With the two wins, Jamestown finishes the season 9-7 in the WDA and 11-7 overall. They have won eight of the last ten games. They head into next weekends West Region Tournament as the number four seed. They will open up with Mandan on Thursday. St. Mary’s falls to 1-15 in the conference and 4-18 overall. They are the number nine seed and will play eighth seed Bismarck in a play-in game on Thursday with the winner to face top seed Century.
